Fabindia Review!!!

So for the very first time, on my blog I am reviewing some of
the products by Fabindia. Fabindia is one of the renowned and loved brands of India
which deals with garments, accessories, home linen, home furnishing, home products,
floor covering, personal products and organics. In today’s post I will be
reviewing some of the personal care products. Fabindia personal care products range
includes skin and hair care products.
Few months ago I was looking for organic and natural skin
care products and one of my friends recommended me to try the Fabindia
products.I must say they have a wide range of skin care products and I am
totally in love with them. Till now I have no side effects or allergy, they all
are reasonably priced and contains sufficient quantity as well.
So here is the review.
Wild Rose Moisturizing Lotion
It comes in a bottle with a small white pump dispenser and a
small cap over it. It smells divine and it was actually the smell of roses that
made me buy this product. The smell is mild and not very overpowering,
absolutely a perfect girl thing. It is a light moisturizing lotion with thick
consistency, easy to apply. On application leaves your skin soft, smooth and
hydrated with no stickiness. It gets easily absorbed by the skin and leaves it
silky smooth. It lasts on the skin for long hours but people with super dry
skin need to reapply it after every 3 or 4 hour. It claims of soft and supple
skin on regular use and I find it to be true.
Haldi Chandan Mud Pack
It comes in a tub packaging with a lid cover. It smells of
sandalwood and has a thick consistency. Patch test is recommended before buying
the product because this pack on application causes a tingling sensation on
your skin for few minutes, so some of you may like it or not. The pack is smooth
and paste like and because of thick consistency it is easy to apply.
The base of this pack is the fuller’s earth (multani mitti)
and everyone is well aware of the magic that fullers earth do to our skin. It also
contains haldi and chandan which are known for their medicinal properties and
combining these two with fuller's earth serves the purpose of many skin problems
(like pimples and acne breakage, anti-tanning anti-aging, clear complexion and
many more).
My skin is exposed to direct sun for about 5-6 hours daily and
I was looking for something that could get me rid of the sun-tan and keep my skin
cool so I purchased this product. This haldi chandan mud pack claims of clear
skin and also of improvement in complexion (on frequent use). It does leave my
skin clean and clear after I remove the pack. I have super oily skin but this
pack makes my skin super dry and I have to run for a moisturizer so people who
have dry skin or normal skin should think and re-think before purchasing it. One
thing which I don’t understand is “why this mud contains so many chemicals also?”,
so do go for a patch test before purchasing it. Overall it worked quite well
for my skin and helped in keeping my skin clean and fight sun-tan to an extent
but as soon as I will run out of this I would look for some other pack(because
of the chemicals ) or will instead make one at home using haldi, sandalwood and
fullers earth.
Charcoal Face Scrub
Charcoal based products have been on hype since the last
year and i was also willing to use one and i came across this charcoal scrub
and gave it try.
It claims ”charcoal is known for its ability to absorb
impurities. This scrub removes dirt and excess oil from the skin while gently
exfoliating them.”
As I have super oily skin it works really well for me, it
does remove the excess oil and dirt from my face. It has activated charcoal, walnut
granules, almond oil, lemon grass oil and again some chemicals as well. It smells
of lemongrass because of the presence of lemon grass oil and it also comes in a
tub packaging with a lid cover. This scrub also has a thick paste like consistency
and small walnut granules. Be gentle while exfoliating as recommended otherwise
you can hurt your skin. Earlier I used it just as a face scrub but I read on
internet that it can be used as a face pack as well so now after exfoliating my
skin I leave it on my face for around 5 min and then wash it off. It totally
refreshes my skin and also brightens it up for few hours.
Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
Now this is one of my favorite product by fabindia and it
is a must have product.It contains purified water and aloe-vera powder only. I
have been using it on a regular basis from about 5 weeks and it has actually lightened
the dark spots on my skin to an extent. It also refreshes my skin and leaves a
cooling effect for a while. It also brightens up the skin from within and gives
it an inner glow. I absolutely love this product. This also comes in tub
packaging with a lid cover and it smells of nothing.
Lip Butter Plum Passion
I actually picked this up because of the cute packaging and
its pink color. It has a fruit like fragrance but it has no taste ( I wish it
had some taste).The balm is thick but during winters it turns hard which makes
it difficult to scrap from the tub. It glides smoothly over lips and deeply
moisturizes it. It stays on lips for long hours and also works well for dry and
chapped lips. It also works as a lipstick base. It is lightly tinted but it
comes out to be transparent on lips. It worked well for my chapped lips and
helped in repairing them.
